[ENG] Special issue: POP Magazine 25th B-day
Review of the magazine for the special event of the 50th issue, but also the discovery of a style of magazine that could exist in France.
In this new special fashion issue, we will focus on another magazine, POP. This edition will notably talk about the release and publication of the covers in view of their 50th issue.1as well as their 25th anniversary
On the occasion of the magazine's 25th anniversary, the 50th issue will be published. This marks an era that is evolving with the magazine being the only one that appears twice a year and voluminous both in terms of number of covers and number of pages.
There are a lot of covers (about 20) but I'll give you a few.
To get a little deeper into the subject and talk about this 1st 2024 edition of POP magazine, let's cross the Channel to quickly describe it:
It is a fashion magazine that is produced in England, it is the only version.
This magazine is published biannually (March and September), each issue presents an incredible quantity of covers, the models are present on several covers of a single issue during its publication.
POP Magazine is known for its fairly substantial volume in its issues which can vary for example issue 46 of 675 pages and issue 50 of 800 pages.
S/S pour Spring Summer et A/W pour Autumn Winter
I discovered the magazine for the first time at its number 44 as soon as I saw 550 pages which interested me so I continued this desire to start a new collection of POP Magazine. Since then I can't stop waiting for it at each launch and the 50th issue is proof of that.
So where do we find them?
In Paris you can find them in several places especially in bookstores but not all of them have a magazine departement including international ones but you can find them there
Smith&Son 248 rue de Rivoli and their 2nd boutique in the Marais 20 rue des Rosiers
OFR, 10 rue du petit Thouars next to République are the best known and often have a large stock when the point of sale receives them they sell english and french and some galeries you can find paints
Conclusion
We will have seen in this issue that POP magazine publishes ever larger issues, we have rarely had magazines that appear with 700-800 pages at each release although there have been some existing printed copies produced in the past.
The biannual publication format also has an impact because it is only seen twice a year, which also adds a space that had not yet been explored. Of course, we know an infinite number of magazines that mainly use the formats: weekly and monthly, but no magazine had chosen to differentiate itself by publishing twice a year.
